Tonimbuk Horse Trials 2011 will be held over the March long weekend on March 12th & 13th. All classes catered for - Introductory, Preliminary, Pre-Novice, CIC*, CIC**, CIC***.
Tonimbuk Horse Trials is now in its twelfth year, has received international accreditation and has a proud history of attracting a wide range of competitors from all parts of Australia.
Run at the picturesque Tonimbuk Equestrian Park, just north of Bunyip, the event attracts many of Australia’s leading riders. With the 2012 London Olympics looming, many of these riders are vying for Olympic selection.
As well as competition at the elite level, Tonimbuk Horse Trials caters for the full range of eventing grades from Introductory through Preliminary, Pre-Novice, CIC*, CIC** to CIC***. With over 300 entries and an expected 2000 visitors to the event over the weekend, the Tonimbuk Equestrian Park will be buzzing with high energy competition.
The popularity of the event is testament to the excellent facilities at Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre and to the overall quality and standard of the cross country course, designed and built by internationally acclaimed course designer/builder, Wayne Copping.
This high profile event has attracted a number of generous sponsors with Pakenham Produce and Saddlery, Equissage, Redwood Prints, Mal Byrne Saddlery, Mitavite and Outlook Greenery enthusiastically supporting the event. Cardinia Shire Council is also an important major sponsor of this event and the Cardinia Shire Council Award will again be presented to the best performed rider who resides in Cardinia Shire.
The event commences on Saturday March 12 at 8.00am with Dressage for all classes. The elite CIC*** dressage will be held in the indoor arena on Saturday evening. The Introductory and Preliminary Showjumping will also be held on the Saturday with the remainder of the showjumping classes and all cross country sections of the event to be held on Sunday 13th. Presentations will be held on Sunday afternoon at about 5.30pm.
